Week 2 Recap:

In the 1st game of the day Tough Draw and Goin Deep, two of the top 4 GSL flag football teams faced off.  Although playing short handed Tough Draw gave Goin Deep everything they wanted.  Goin Deep was able to pick off an errant pitch at the end of the 1st half and convert Tough Draws mistake in to 7 points.  The 2nd half proved to be a defensive struggle as neither team could put the ball in the end zone.  TD drove down several times but could not seal the deal.  With less than 30 seconds left TD put the ball in the end zone only to have the play called back due to an off sides penalty.  Goin Deep shut the door and won the game 13-7.

Game MVP:  Jack Hamilton (Goin Deep)

The 2nd game pitted veteran GSL team The Blitz against 7-Man newcomer Redzone.  This game was also a hard fought back and forth game.  The game was tied with 2:00 minutes left when The Blitz were able to drive the length of the field and put the ball in the endzone for the win 13-7.

Game MVP:  Darron Ramsey (The Blitz)

The Blitz then had double duty and faced The Punishers.  Another hard fought evenly matched contest with The Blitz coming out on top 13-7.  The Punishers used the 1st half to gel with new players but look to be a strong team as they learn each other.  The Blitz continue to improve each week as they learn the 7-Man game.

Game MVP:  Darron Ramsey (The Blitz)

Top 4 team the Regulators faced off against the new and improved Just Rite squad.  Just Rite was fired up from the beginning looking to upset the veteran Regulators.  Sparked on by the display of "DREAM" and the Regulators new and improved uniforms they were able to hold on and win 21-13.  Just Rite Captain Melvin scored both Just Rites tds, 1 with an impressive leap and take away for The Regulators DB Ced.

Game MVP:  Robert Nycz (Regulators)

Just Rite had to come back and face newcomer Life Center.  They were able to put the loss behind them and work hard enough to pull off the victory 20-6.  Life Center another new team learning the game and getting used to new players.  Watch them improve as the season goes on as they are young, competitive and athletic.

Game MVP:  Crittle (Just Rite)

The last game of the day faced two of the newest teams to GSL Atlanta Flag Football.  Cover 2 and the Bulldawgs faced off and Cover 2 pulled off the win.  Both squads are very new to the 7-Man game and will be looking to learn and improve each week.  Cover 2 takes the win 13-6.

Game MVP:  QB (Cover 2)

Week 2 MVP:  Congratulations to the Blitzs Darron Ramsey being name Week 2 GSL Atlanta Flag Football MVP.  Darron accounted for 20 of the Blitzs 26 points on the day and pulled in 1 interception.  Nic job Darron.....
